Alan Jerome Burns was born in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Charles Burns, Sr and Sylvia Lee Burns. He departed this life January 20, 2025, at his home.

He accepted Christ at an early age, at Sterling Boulevard Church of Christ. He also attended Sheffield High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sylvia Burns, and brother, Charles Burns, Jr.

Alan Jerome leaves to cherish his memories: Special friend, Marcia Bates and her son, Ethan, of Sheffield, Alabama; 3 children, Xavier Bates, Kinsey Byrd, and Tarika Burns of Sheffield, Alabama; 2 brothers, Anthony Burns of Dallas, Texas and Redus Burns of Decatur, Georgia; sister, Shannon (Ricky) Jackson of Stonecrest, Georgia; nephews, Antonio Burns, Justin Goodloe, and Demarion Burns; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
