Alijah "AJ" Juwan Cole went home to Jesus on October 15, 2024 at the age of 28. AJ was born to Monica Cole on June 24, 1996 in Florence, Alabama. As a child and an adult, he was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Some of his accomplishments are being the first black Drum Major at Florence High School, where he graduated in May 2015. He was a faithful member of Armstead Chapel C.M.E. Church, where he was best known for singing "Cooling Water" by Lee Williams.
He also was the director of The Board of Christian Education. He was an employee of Kids Club and Project XYZ.
He leaves to cherish: a devoted mom, Monica Cole of Florence, Alabama; devoted brother, Javarius Cole (Taquita) of Florence, Alabama; nephew, Javarius Cole, Jr.; special little sister, Shanikqua Vaughn of Athens, Alabama; special brothers, Keandre Cole and Baily Coffey of Florence, Alabama; devoted grandmother, Glenda Beckwith of Florence, Alabama; loving aunt, Reverend Lasondra Stanford (Rev. Michael); two uncles, Rodney Cole (Britney) and Charles Cole, all of Florence, Alabama; special nephews, Dakaria King and Jaxx Powers; special niece, Shakeria Stanford; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, devoted family, and friends; special parents, Melissa and Reverend James Coffey; special moms, Sharon Cole, Kristi Lynn Hollingsworth, and Kristy Cole; and all will greatly miss him.
