ANN MAE GILBERT BAUGH was born February 12,
1927, to the late Charlie Gilbert, Sr., and Mrs. Cornelia
Holiday Gilbert. She was one of fourteen children born
to this union.
She was preceded in death by her special friend.
In addition, she was also preceded in death by her
grandparents, Ben Gilbert and Charlotte Houston.
On July 8, 2020, the Lord whispered and called her
home quietly in her sleep, with no more pain nor sorrow.
Ann Mae accepted the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
at an early age, and joined Galilee Missionary Baptist
Church of Florence, Alabama. She remained an avid
member until her health no longer permitted her. She
was full of joy and life, and loved her family dearly. She
loved cooking, gardening, and babysitting children. She
had a heart for kids.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and
devoted son, James Barnett of Florence; goddaughter,
Alice Patricia Williams; sister, Katie Gilbert Simmons
of Florence; brothers, Otis Gilbert (Josephine) of
Indianapolis, Indiana, and Charlie Gilbert, Jr. (Sandra)
of Muscle Shoals; a host of nieces, nephews, and many
friends, including a devoted and loving friend, Dr. Eric
Kirkman.
