Obituary

Mrs. Annie Barnett Ricks Wright, was born December 18, 1969 to the late Annie Arline Ricks.  She departed this life on April 8, 2025 at her residence in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Annie confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. James MB Church, Leighton under the leadership of Dr. Rev. Green Davidson, III.  She later joined Friendship Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.  Annie was a 1988 graduate of Colbert County High School.  After graduating she began her life in the work force, working at the following businesses:  Tennessee River TJ's Sewing Factory, Tuscaloosa City Transportation and Creative Child Development Daycare.

Annie was united in holy matrimony to Reginald Wright of Florence, Alabama in 1998.  From this union they had one son, Malik Wright.  She loved her husband and son unconditionally; she was a multi-talented woman with many talents and gifts and she loved making others smile through her gifts.

She was preceded in death by her mother:  Annie A. Ricks.  She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband: Reginald Wright; a son: Malik Wright; two brothers:  Raymon (Teerica) Ricks and Kermit Earl Ricks; a sister:  Tiffany Ricks; three sisters-in-law: Terina Perkins, Andrea Perkins, and Jackie Wright; three brothers-in-law: Alvin Belue, Andrew (Whitney) Wright, and Bradley Wright; step mother -in-law: Mrs. Idella Wright; six uncles:  Robert (Flora) Ricks, Frankie Lee Ricks, Walter B. (Rebecca) Ricks, Willie H. (Diane) Ricks, Earnest (Brenda) Ricks, and George Leon Ricks; three aunts; Mildred Christine Garner, Dorothy Ann Ricks (Willie James), and Evelyn Neloms; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Annie was close and loved her entire family as well as her Tuscaloosa Family and friends and Daycare Children. Special thanks to DCH & UAB Hosital.
