Obituary

April Diane Chandler, age 49, of Florence, Alabama,

passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, surrounded by

her loved ones.

A devoted mother, cherished friend, and compassionate

soul, April lived her life as a force of love, strength, and

generosity. Her presence was a light in the lives of all who

knew her, warm, steady, and unwavering.

Born to her mother, Essie Elizabeth Pride Ingram, her

father, Al Abernathy, and stepfather, Eddie Frank Goodloe,

on April 3, 1976, in ECM Hospital, April was raised with

strong values of faith, family, and kindness. She carried

these with her throughout her life. She graduated from

Bradshaw High School.

Above all, April was a mother and business owner.

She poured her heart into raising her children and

grandchildren with endless patience, fierce protection,

and unconditional love. April was the proud owner of

Pride Senior Care, LLC. She sought to serve the elderly

and disabled community after caring for her mother, Essie

Pride Ingram. On April's behalf, the family would like to

thank her employees over the years for their loving hearts

and hard work. She loved and appreciated you all.

Whether she was cheering from the sidelines, staying up

late to talk through life challenges, or simply sitting in

the quiet for support, her children always knew she was

there. She created a home full of comfort, laughter, and

faith—one that welcomed not just her own but also anyone

in need of a safe place.

She had a heart that gave without hesitation. From laughs

to offering a listening ear, April always gave generously of

her time and energy. She had a gift of making others feel

seen, heard, and deeply loved. Her calm spirit and wise

words soothed storms. Her hugs could heal. Her smile lit

up the darkest room. April gave her life to Christ at an early age.  She continued

her faith at New Remnant Worship Center, where she

lived out her faith not just in word but also in action. She

believed in kindness, in showing up, and in being someone

others could count on.

She is survived by her four beloved children, Quade

Alexander (29), Jaedah Abernathy (27), Jacoryhn Abernathy

(25), and Destiny DeWalt (17); two grandchildren, Uzziah

Dunn and Za'Nylan Smith; siblings, Richard Chandler,

Micheal Chandler, Eddie Frank Chandler, Geraldine

ompson, Georgia Stanley, Albert Abernathy, Lusterine

Hope Williams, Wanda Houston, and Ronnie Abernathy;

and countless nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones

who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Carlos Chandler,

and Alice Perkins.
