Barbara Suggs' Obituary
Barbara Jean Burt-Suggs born to the late Percy & Viola Burt on April 9, 1942 in Town Creek Alabama. She was educated in Colbert County School System. She worked many years at Monarch Tile until retiring.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved cooking, and meeting new people. She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive MB Church where served as a Mother of the Church and served as chairperson of the hospitality committee and mass choir. She enjoyed watching westerns on T.V. also being a mentor to the young.
Barbara departed this life on January 24, 2017 at Florence Nursing and Rehab Center in Florence. She was preceded in death by her brother Percy Lee Tucker.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and truly committed loving husband of over 50 years, Willie E. Suggs, Jr. of Sheffield, Alabama. Two daughters, Deloris (Charles) Jarmon, Dorothy (Keith) Abernathy both of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two sons, Lechester Suggs of Sheffield, Alabama, Thomas (Angela) Suggs, Madison, Alabama; eleven grand-children, Tiffanie, Chuckie, Xazavier, Deion, Tavian, Solomon, Chiquita, Tiffany, Chris, Kayla, Sydney; five great -grand children; two sisters, Eunice Young, Zion, Illinois , Edna (Curtis) Stewart, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two brothers, Ben (Essie) Burt , Sheffield, Alabama, Connie ( Pamela) Burt, Leighton, Alabama; three sisters-in-law, Janice Acklin, Mattie Beachum, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
