Billy Joe Shelby, was born June 19, 1961 in Florence, Alabama to the union of Alfonza and Juanita Shelby. He departed this life at home on February 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother-in-law, Adrian Rice.
Billy Joe devoted his life to Christ at an early age to St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Coffee High School where he played basketball. After graduation he worked for the City of Florence.
Billy Joe leaves to cherish his memories; three daughters: Shirley Reeder, Kim (Brad) Thompson, Keanna Thompson all of Florence, Alabama, three sisters; Wynella Rice, Folesha (Ricky) Casey, Wanda (Jessie) Shanes, all of Florence, Alabama, three brothers; Norman Goodloe, Ronnie (Jamia) Selby, Huntsville, Alabama, Nick (April) Shelby, Florence, Alabama; seven grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and loved ones.
