Cerletha R. Lewis

Cerletha Renee Lewis entered this life on February 21, 1970, to the parentage of Edgar and Tracine Lewis of Leighton, Alabama. She departed her earthly journey on Saturday, May 9, 2026, after battling with a brief illness. She was surrounded by family and friends. She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and she joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church of Leighton, Alabama. Cerletha attended Colbert County High School and graduated in the Class of 1988. She also attended Alabama A&M University of Huntsville, Alabama. She was also employed by Ropak Manufacturing Company located in Decatur, Alabama. In spite of her sickness, she was also the caregiver of her mother. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Annie Lewis; and maternal grandparents, Jerry and Lorine Davis. Cerletha is survived by her two sons, Thomas Lewis (Canisius) and Keontae Lewis, both of Leighton; one grandson, Brayden Lewis of Leighton, AL; one bonus granddaughter, Caitlin Cunningham of Leighton, AL; one sister, Jessica Lewis of Sheffi eld, AL; one brother, Derickus Lewis of North Carolina; three nephews, Jay Foster (Karley), Jalen Foster, and Kimatni Foster, all of Leighton, AL; one niece, Zariea Lewis of Florence, AL; seven uncles: Percy (Nancy) Davis and Curtis Davis, both of Tuscumbia, AL, Bobby Davis of Sheffi eld, AL, Jim Davis of Leighton, AL, Willie James Lewis of Sheffi eld, AL, Columbus Lewis of Florence, AL, and Earnest Lewis of Muscle Shoals, AL; eleven aunts: Hattie Hood, Mae Perkins, Mary Davis, Carletha Swoopes, and Mary Ricks, all of Leighton AL, Rebecca Horrison of Muscle Shoals, AL, Charlotte Lewis of Sheffi eld, AL, Larita (Wayne) Ford of Decatur, AL, Glenda D. Garner of Tuscumbia, and Cynthia Lewis and Anna B. Lewis, both of Rochester, NY; special cousins, Chelsie Mason, Meka Davis, and Nakita Mitchell; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
