Mr. Charles DeWayne "Woodie" Woods
was born on March 19, 1965, in Florence, Alabama.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early
age and remained a faithful servant until his untimely
departure from this world on March 31, 2023.
Wayne graduated from Central High School in 1984
and was employed by Wise Alloys for several years until
his retirement in 2017.
DeWayne was a loving spirit with humble ways. His
heart was just as warm as his smile. He was a friend
to whomever he met. To know "Woodie" was to love
"Woodie."
Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his father, Charles
David Woods, and stepfather, Earnie J. Lovelace.
He leaves to cherish his everlasting memory: his only
son, Malcolm Goodloe of Florida; four grandchildren;
two sisters, Nettie Morgan (Derrick) of Florida and
Deborah Burress (Johnny) of Florence, Alabama;
four brothers, David Woods (Valerie) of Minnesota,
Donnie Grisham (Judy) of Harvest, Alabama, and Ellis
Southward (Sherry) and Stanley Southward (Cynthia),
both of Florence; eight aunts; three uncles; and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him
dearly.
