Curtis Carnell Thompson was born August 26, 1931 and departed this life on March 11, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Louise Jarmon- Thompson, his parent, Perry and Emma(Smith) Thompson, his brothers, John H. Thompson, Perry Thompson, Willie "Ben" Thompson, Charles Thompson, Joe Lewis Thompson, his sisters, Rose Baker-Garrett, Helen Thompson Ferguson, and Ida Mae Thompson.

Curtis Thompson was a 1950 graduate of Sterling High School, where he participated in football, basketball, and theater. After graduation Curtis enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon completion of his tour in the Air Force he returned to his hometown and begin working at TVA-Muscle Shoals until his retirement in 1995, after 37 years of service.

Mr. Thompson was loved and respected in his neighborhood. Curtis was known for cooking breakfast for his family whenever they came to town which included his famous bacon, with biscuits and cheese & eggs. His grandkids can all attest to him making the best homemade French fries and all his Ohio family loved his fried fish. He lovingly had a nickname for all his family and friends, and he had a few nicknames himself. He was a staple in the community and will be greatly missed by family, friends, and neighbors.

Mr. Thompson leaves to cherish his memories: His devoted sister, Gloria "Doll" Thompson-Smith, Five children: Connie Jones, Elaine Thompson- Wright, Keith Thompson, Pam Thompson-Compton, and Melba (Henry) Thompson-Whiteside. Twelve grandchildren: Chanda, Crystal, Kim, Brandon, Jared, Keith, Candice, Tiffanie, Tabatha, John Curtis, Kiara, and Kayla. Twenty- one great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
