Mr. David James King, Jr., "DJ," the son of Mrs. Verlene (Reverend Nicholas) Busbee and Mr. David James (Connie) King, Sr., was born on November 24, 1989, in Florence, Alabama. On September 17, 2023, with his family at his bedside at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, our Master and Savior called another one of his soldier's home. He was a gentle giant, who never met a stranger. He was an amazing father to his daughter, Maria. "DJ" accepted Christ at an early age at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Leighton, Alabama. He later went to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to do so. "DJ" goes to his heavenly home to join his grandparents, Mr. James and Eddie Pearl McClure, and Mr. George Washington and Minnie Pearl King; three aunts, Louise Thompson, Ms. Terry McClure, and Jacquline King; and two uncles, Willie McClure and Dexter McClure, Sr.

"DJ" leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Maria King (Anastasia); parents, Mrs. Verlene (Reverend Nicholas) Busbee and Mr. David James (Connie) King, Sr.; two sisters, Tequila (LeBrandon) McDaniel and Rudy (Brandon) McClure; one brother, Vernon King; one stepsister, Passion Walker of Prattville, Alabama; three stepbrothers, LaKevious (Hannah) Sellers, and Keshon and La'Zarus Walker, all of Prattville, Alabama; eight nieces, Jasmine Smith, Nya Roberson, Tatiana Reeder, LaKeria Reeder, Danyelle Davis, Tileigha Thompson, baby Yanay, and Kensley Houston; five nephews, Rodrick Jackson, Courvoiser Jackson, Kendall Sellers, Allen Lee, and Kymir Ollison; a special cousin, LaShunda (Matthew) King; special aunts, Rosalind Walker Jones and Becky Thompson; and the UAB Staff.
