Obituary

MS. DEBORAH DENISE "DEBBIE" RICKS was born


on August 11, 1965, to Mrs. Mildred Christine Garner and the


late Mr. Willie B. "BB" Garner. She gained her Heavenly Wings


on December 29th 2025 at UAB Medical Center Birmingham,


Alabama. Debbie accepted Christ at an early age and joined St.


James M.B. Church Leighton, Alabama, under the leadership of


Pastor Reverend Dr. Green Davidson III.


Debbie was a 1984 Colbert County High School graduate, after


graduating she joined the workforce working at the following


companies: Wayne's Farm, Decatur, AL, Pilgrim's Pride of


Russellville, AL, TJ's of Florence, AL, National Linens of Florence


AL, NAL Inc. of Muscle Shoals, AL, and presently Kohler Co of


Huntsville, AL. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and she loved


her family and loved helping with family functions. Debbie had a


quiet gentle spirit but a big powerful heart to those who knew her.


Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Willie Garner, brother,


Donnie "Curly" Ricks, and special niece, Tynik Carroll.


Her beautiful spirit and memories will live on and will be forever


cherished by: her daughter, Matorius Tanail Ricks (LaCori


Goodloe) of Tuscumbia, AL; two grandchildren, Daveon (Dee)


Russell and Hannah Goodloe both of Tuscumbia, AL; her loving


mother, Mildred Christine Garner of Leighton, AL; five brothers,


Willie D. Ricks, Marcus Ricks both of Leighton, AL, Rubin (Ashley)


Garner, David Spangler both of Florence, AL, Anthony (Andrea)


Spangler of Muscle Shoals, AL; two sisters, Cassie Michelle Garner


Byrd of Leighton, AL, and Chiquita Spangler of Rogerville, AL;

two aunt, Dorothy Ann (Willie James) Walker of Sheffield, AL,


Selma Cal of Town Creek, AL; one great-aunt, Evelyn Neloms of


Muscle Shoals, AL; seven uncles, Robert (Flora) Ricks, Walter B.


(Rebecca) Ricks, Frankie Lee Ricks, Willie H. (Diane) Ricks all of


Sheffield, AL, Earnest (Brenda) Ricks of Town Creek, AL, George


Leon Ricks and Robert E. Ricks both of Leighton, AL; a host of


nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
