Donnie Lee Murphy was born on July 24th, 1960 to the late Thomas Lee Armstead and Martha Louise Ragland Dillard in Florence, AL.

Donnie departed this life on April 14th, 2024 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Donnie accepted Christ at a very young age at his church home in New Jersey.

He graduated from Pearl High School, class of 1978. Donnie retired from the Marriot of the Shoals where he served as Supervising Chef for 15 years.

In his leisure, Donnie loved traveling with his wife and family, his love for fast cars and trucks, but for those who knew him knew he LOVED TO COOK and was skilled in all aspects of food preparation.

One of the best to ever do it. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him. Your life was a blessing and now your memory will forever be a treasure. Donnie was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Donnie is now eternally reunited with his mother and father: Tommy Lee Armstead and Martha Louise Ragland Dillard. A daughter: Marie Weakley, A brother: Johnny Armstead. And a sister: Corikas Patterson.

Donnie leaves to cherish his beloved wife of 16 years, together for 23 years, Alice Murphy of Florence, AL. His stepfather: Chester Dillard. His daughters: Azuree' McLean, Nikita Johnson (Dustin). His sons: Donnie "Lil Donnie" Murphy Jr.,

Christopher Weakley (Mistye). His grandchildren: Aaniyah King, Syncere Hudson, Christian Pozo-Rocha, Raelynn Weakley, Denigel Cole, Jayden Johnson, Kayden Johnson, Levi Johnson, Mayson Johnson, Nysere McLean, and Miracle McLean. His brothers: Roger Armstead, Apostle Darick Ragland, Bill Brown, and James Cory Armstead. His sisters: Eartha Johnson (Jerry Ray), Jacqueline Williams, and Vonetta Ragland. Special cousins: Lisa Skipworth-Gray and Christine Murphy-Lester; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
