Doris Vivian Brooks Johnson was born
on July 17, 1955, in Decatur, Alabama, to the late Mr.
and Mrs. Charles, Sr., and Mary Brooks. She graduated
as salutatorian of her class at Lawrence County
High School, and she continued her education at The
University of North Alabama. She accepted Jesus Christ
as her savior at an early age. As a humble and uplifting
woman of God, she carried the love of Jesus in her heart,
inspiring all those who entered her life. Glorifying God
in all she said and did, she was a light that truly lifted
your spirit.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles D.
Sr., and Mary E. Brooks; two sisters, Priscilla Brooks
and Annie Yarborough; and two uncles, Robert Brooks
and Reverend Oscar Brooks. On February 1, 2022, the
Lord called her home to be with him.

Doris leaves to cherish her memories and honor
her legacy: a loving husband, Cleveland Johnson;
three daughters, La'Curie Russell (Bennie), Le'Abra
Weakley (O.J. Summerhill, Sr.), and Shawanda Lawson
(Gabriel); eight grandchildren, La'Cretia Weakley,
Kelvin Weakley, Zyteria Belue, Malique Russell, Tyrik
Russell, Na'kya Weakley, Gabrielle Lawson, and Gabriel
Lawson, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Weakley,
Nevaeh Weakley, and Aryannah Weakley; five brothers,
Charles Brooks III, Oscar Brooks, Kenneth Brooks,
Rev. Thommy Brooks (Rev. Aletha), Edward Brooks;
one sister, Julia Brooks; her very special cousin who was
like a sister to her, Ethel Young (South Carolina); and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
