Obituary

Ms. Edna Marie Brown was born on January 31, 1952, to the late Martha Elizabeth Haskins and the
late Joseph (Bit) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Hurley Clayton Beachum,
and her baby son, Deron Antwone Brown.

At a young age, Ms. Edna Brown accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at St. Paul AME Church in
Florence, Alabama, where she was a faithful and active member. She served as a Sunday School Teacher,
Sunday School Superintendent Teacher, Missionary Society Member, Usher Board Member, and Choir
Member until she departed her life on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at North Alabama Medical Center.
We are paying tribute to a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, friend, cousin, and all
around person. Ms. Edna Brown was the BEST mother and grandmother in the whole wide world, and
even considered other children as hers, as she had a special love for all children. She was a walking representation
of love, as she was big on showing everyone how loved they were by her. She had a special love
for the Westside of Florence, where she was born and raised. She will be missed greatly by everyone who
knew her, especially her family and her Westside Community.

Ms. Edna Brown received her education first at Burrell Slater until her tenth grade school year in 1969.
The school system was then desegregated her eleventh grade school year, where she then graduated from
Bradshaw High School in 1971. She retired from the Florence City School System after working with
them for 25 years.

She leaves to cherish so many loving and beautiful memories: her daughter, Berneisa Brown; son, Terrell
(Shelia) Brown; sisters, Janice Brown, Darlene (Zack) Roach, and Bridgett (Royce) Wilson; brothers,
Larry (Ruth) Brown, Orville (Connie) Haskins, and Tony (Collette) Haskins; grandchildren, Kentrell
LeShore, Kenisha Brown, Rapheal Hogan, Terrell Brown, Jr., and Aeriel Brown; great-grandchildren,
Ja'Kiyon Fagan, Addisyn McDaniel, and Ta'Miyah Brown; a special friend, Delois Boddie; and a host of
other relatives and so many friends and acquaintances.
