Elva Doris Cole was born to the late Rister Dee and Annie Mae Watkins on July 17, 1943 in Lauderdale County. Her brother, Pastor Adali S. Coffee precedes her in death. She made her heavenly transition Wednesday May 11th at Huntsville Hospital.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Little Zion M.B. Church. After moving to Florence where she married the late Arthur Cole she united with Armstead Chapel C.M.E. Church of Florence. She served on the Stewardess Board and Missionary Society until her health failed her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Two sons: Anthony (Avis) Cole and Victor (Annetta) Cole both of Florence, Al. One daughter: LaToya Cole of Florence, Al. Four sisters: Martha (Roosevelt) Butler, Teresa Smith of Rogersville, Al., Judy Williams of Florence, Al. and Louise Roberson of Glendale, AZ. One brother: Donald Coffee of Florence, Al. Two grandchildren: Shynee Cole and Nicolas Allen both of Florence, Al. Three sisters-in-law: Cleo Caldwell, Mary Ann Sneed, Lillian Cooper of Florence, Al. One brother-in-law: Rev. Bennie (Eliza Mae) Cole of Florence, Al. Best friends: Rudy Thornton, Fannie Scott, Sharon Hargrove, and Irene Clancy. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special niece Meshele Butler.
