On the morning of Sunday, March 12, 2023, Frances
Elaine Shipley Simpson entered into eternal peace at
North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Athens, Alabama, at
the age of seventy-one.
Frances was born July 3, 1951, a daughter of the late Allen
(AJ) and Edna Shipley. She received her education from
Burrell Slater High School and National Career College,
where she received her degree in Microcomputer Data Entry.
Frances confessed her life at an early age and was a member
of Bethel Lauderdale Missionary Baptist Church and later,
she changed her membership to First Missionary Baptist
Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama.
Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Cole
Anderson; grandparents, Frank and Frances Price and Edgar
and Orlando Shipley; two brothers, Allen (Butch) Shipley
and Calvin Shipley; and one sister, Jeanette Shipley Rowell.
Frances leaves her loving memories to be cherished by: her
husband, Henry Simpson; daughter, Tracey Cole (Kelvin) Freeman;
children of love, Nathaniel (Melissa) Simpson of
Sheffield, Alabama, Vanessa Simpson, Leticia Simpson,
Frances Simpson, and Abrielle Lathan, all of Detroit,
Michigan; grandchildren, Perrin (Tomeshia) Cole, and
Kayla Freeman (Wesley), all of Huntsville, Alabama, and
Tyren (Veronica) Anderson of Santa Ana, California; great
Grandchildren, Palynn and Prezleigh Cole, Huntsville,
Alabama; One Son-in-law, Gude Anderson, Santa Ana,
California; two sisters, Joann (Golden)Armstead and Gail (Robert)
Gamble, and one brother, William Shipley, all of
Florence, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Cora Mae (Jim)Long
of Chicago, Illinois, Shannon Patterson(Keith) Qualls of
Florence, Alabama, Martha Hubbard and Deloris Cole,
both of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Larry Cole
of Florence, Alabama and Lonnie Earl Cole of San Antonio,
Texas; one aunt, Georgia McCall of Norfolk, Virginia; one
uncle, John Price of Waukegan, Illinois; and a host of loving
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
