Mrs. Geraldine McCroskey Foster was born March 27, 1940, in Decatur, Alabama, to Mr. Louis and Mrs. Fannie McCroskey.  She departed this life on July 19, 2018, surrounded by family.  She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and she was our Wonder Woman.

She graduated from Burrell Slater High School and was a  long-time member of Mt. Moriah P.B. Church in Florence, Alabama.  She was employed by the University of North Alabama for twenty five years until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis McCroskey; mother, Fannie McCroskey; brother, Colis McCroskey and Carl McCroskey; sisters, Eunicestean Hodges and Gwendolyn Davis.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories:  her devoted husband, Mr. Robert James Foster Sr., of Florence, Alabama; a loving daughter, Ms. Sonya Garner of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; a loving son, Mr. Robert James (Arlinda) Foster, Jr. of Florence, Alabama; four loving grandchildren, Ms. Shanika Garner of Atlanta, Georgia, Mariah Foster of Florence, Alabama, Denzel Nance of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Kaleb Foster of Florence, Alabama; brother Mr. Louis McCroskey of Florence, Alabama; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Foster of Florence, Alabama, and Ms. Cathryn Hargrove of Chicago, Illinois; brothers-in-law, Mr. Joseph (Bernice) Foster of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Mr. William (Kaye) Foster of Sheffield, Alabama, and Mr. Clarence (Frances) Foster of Tuscumbia, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Ms. Rosa Beckwith of Florence, Alabama, Ms. Delois Brown of Florence, Alabama, Mrs. Mary (Nathaniel) Dortch of Santa Monica, California; "adopted" granddaughter, Ms. Ursula Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of other family and friends and special friend; Ms. Mary Thompson of Florence, Alabama.
