He was one of three children born to the late Estella and Samuel Gadd. ham was known for his infectious smile and quiet demeanor. He was a jack of all trades and master of many. He loved building things and working with his hands. Working on cars was one of his favorite pastimes. If it didn't work, he would fix it.
Ham's early childhood was spent in Memphis, where he attended and graduated from Manassas High School in 1977. In 1981, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served until he received an honorable discharge due to medical disability. Ham made Sheffield, Alabama, his home after he was discharged from the military. He became an expert on home repair and upgraded and eventually restored one of the family homes where he lived until his death.
Ham cherished his family and friends above all things. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He is survived by his children, Deshawn (Shun) Peete, Hanson Peete, Jalen Fuqua, and Recus Cole of Memphis, Tuscumbia, and Florence, Alabama respectively; his siblings, Betty (James) Russell of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Nathaniel (Frances) Gadd of Conyers, Georgia; nieces, Tamika Scott, Jerika Russell, and Shakira Gadd; great- nieces, Dominique Williams; nephews, Mike Gadd, Aaron Hunter, and Jaydyn; great-nephews, Taven Tanonta Scott and Kenneth Wiggins; aunts, Virgina King of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Florine Freeman of Cleveland, Ohio; and friends.
