Herbert D. Johnson departed this life on Friday, January 3, 2020. Deneal confessed hope in Christ at a early age at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Florence, Alabama, under the leadership of Reverend Hamilton Smiley. He left after graduation to join the United States Army where he was stationed all over the world.

He was preceded in death by: his grandmothers, Mrs. Ollie Mae Johnson and Mrs. Lula Doxie Simpson; grandfathers, Mr. Raymond Simpson and Mr. Jerry Johnson; uncles, Mr. Earnest Johnson and Mr. Larry Simpson; aunt, Mrs. Ellen Johnson Crenshaw; and uncle, Percy Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Revena Jarmon (Oscar) of Tuscumbia, Alabama; father, Herbert Johnson of Tuscumbia, Alabama; aunts, Mrs. Helen Johnson and Mrs. Hazel Johnson, both of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Mrs. Carla Sherrell of Nashville, Tennessee, Mrs. Rita A. Simpson of Florence, AL, and Mrs. Margie Freeman (James) of Killeen, Texas; brothers, Ramon Jarmon, Cameron Butler, Jasmon Johnson, and Jari Whiteside; sisters, Octavia Bailey and Audrey Johnson, both of Tuscumbia, Alabama; numerous special friends; beloved uncles, Gordon (Joann), Jim (Deborah), Rufus (Rhonda), LC (Terry), Carl (Nell), and Willie Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
