Inez Dortch Dubose was born January 2, 1929 in Florence, Alabama to the late

Stoke and Elmira Dortch. She was 12th of 13 children, and she had seven children of

her own. Inez confessed Christ at an early age at Petersville Baptist Church. She was

a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a member if

the senior choir and gospel chorus. In 2004, she relocated back to Florence and was a

member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church at the time of her death.

She was educated in the Petersville School District.

Inez left Florence in 1960, relocating to Buffalo, New York, for better living and job

opportunities. She worked for Erie County Medical Center, retiring in 1993.

She was a breast cancer survivor, overcoming many health obstacles.

She is survived by: her seven children, Joyce R. Green, Milo Snow, John E. Woods

(Lori), Norris E. Woods, Sr., Karen C. Woods, Julia F. Woods, and Cynthia D. Dubose;

six grandchildren, Chonda Woods, Norris E. Woods, Jr. (LeAnne); Rochelle Ashford

(Terry), LaDonna Morgan (John), Britney McClain, and Charles Alexander; nine

great-grandchildren, Leah Newman, Dori Reese, Kelsey Newman, Langston Woods,

Carleah Alexander, Casai Alexander, Nia Ashford, Chloe and Jack Morgan.
