Mr. James Edward Fomby was born to Norvell and Annie Lee Fomby on May 14, 1932 in Anniston, Alabama. At an early age his family moved to Sheffield, Alabama which he considered to be home.

Edward accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield. He was a faithful member of the Male Chorus.

He worked many years for Landers Supply Company in Sheffield from which he retired.

Edward enjoyed traveling, his clothes and the Magic City Classic. He brought many smiles with his sense of humor.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents: Norvell and Annie Lee: Sisters: Katherine Dunn, Dorries Speaks: Niece: Sheila Ann and Friend: Doug Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his Nephews: Gregory (Vanessa) Arnold, James (Helen) Dunn, Leon Dunn. Nieces: Annette Dunn, Debra Speaks, Ernestine Thomas, Denise Williams, Ernest Speaks, Rasheedah Dunn. A host of great nieces and nephews. A very special caretaker and devoted friend: Loretta King and his beloved four legged friend: Precious.
