James Calvin Mitchell and Charlotte Yvonne Lucas Mitchell celebrate 50 years of marriage during this year of 2016. Together they have been role models for the family and church community. Together they have emulated what true love, unity and commitment are about. We salute your marital bond and ability to keep God in the union.
We celebrate the life of our beloved James C. Mitchell because he remained steadfast as a husband to Charlotte, dedicated as a father to Cedric Pendleton (Actor) and very proud of his granddaughter Brittney Brannon and his great grandson Carter Burke.
On June 21, 2016 Jimmy climbed the stairway to heaven to be with God, to join his parents James C. Mitchell Sr. and Sam Ella Mitchell and once again his dear sister, Leontenia Morris.
Jimmy was admired and respected by many of his neighbors, friends, cousins nieces, and nephews. He was always available to have heart to heart talks and to share words of wisdom. Jimmy had a special bond with Joe Samuel Buckner, his God Brother.
His brother-in-law James Lucas (Carolyn) and sisters-in-law: Lois (Mansfield), Imogene (Ollie deceased) and Joan appreciated Jimmy's love, care and support for all the Lucas Family and especially the children.
Jimmy had many talents, skills, and abilities and shared his mechanical gifts throughout the community. He retired from Reynolds Metal Company and continued to labor as a self employed home appliance repairman. Jimmy Mitchell was a member and served as a Trustee at East Florence Missionary Baptist Church. He was instrumental in helping to acquire the church at the present address. He served many years to encourage the body of Christ.
Anyone whose appliances needed repair knew he was the one to call. We salute you for the last time by saying, "Call Jimmy Mitchell"
