Janice F.
Bankhead
Jun 27, 1954 — Feb 20, 2025
Decatur
Janice Faye Bankhead was born June 27, 1954 in Florence, Alabama. She made her transition on February 20, 2025.
Janice accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Westside Church of Christ, which is now Eastside Church of Christ. Upon becoming a member of the Southside Church of Christ family in Rogersville, Alabama, she was a faithful member there until her health began to decline. She dedicated her life to Christ and helping people. She loved to sing and worship at church.
Janice didn't have many hobbies. As long as she made it to church, work, talk with family and friends, and have her kids and grandkids that's pretty much all she needed to keep her happy,
She attended Coffee High School. After high school, Janice continued her studies at varies Jr. Colleges where she found a love for finance and accounting. She also worked at Big Lots in Florence for over 30 years until she retired. If you were ever at the Big Lots you would remember that smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Bonner and Lee Patterson and brothers, Robert Simpson, Lee Patterson Jr., Norris Patterson, and David Patterson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sons, Kelvin, Emmanuel, and Kendrick; 5 grandchildren; Shacondra, Jasher, Kiasia, Courtland, and Kaley; One great grandson: Kamarl Lamar; Step-Father; David Bonner (Ms. Frankie); 2 brothers; Kenneth Patterson, Curtis Buddy Bankhead; 6 sisters: Duretha Smith, Shelia Davis, Lena Cole, Lisa Carter, Audrey Smith McIntosh, and Cheryl Smith, 4 special daughters; Tanisha Nelson, Dior Nelson, Taryn Brooks, and Shaneka Gholston; 4 very very special friends until the end; Sis. Catherine Cooper, Sis Evelyn Dourrough, Sis. Latisha Malone and Sis Belinda Fuqua and a long history of cousins, neices, nephews, friends and family members.
