Jimmie Darnell Shaw was born June 11, 1961, in Sheffield, Alabama. He departed this life October 3, 2025, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Jimmie enjoyed life with a radiant smile and a giving heart. He gave his life to Christ and was baptized at an early age.

He was a loving husband, father, and man to all that knew him.

He joined Mt. Zion AME Church, Sheffield, Alabama.

Jimmie retired with 30 years of service from Helen Keller Hospital, 18 years of service from Constellium, and 17 years as a business owner of Shaw Janitorial Services.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mollie Barnett; father, Jimmy Jones; aunts, Sallie Hubbard and Minnie Barnett; and grandsons, Christopher Fuqua and Alontae Nalls.  Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Wanda Shaw, of 31 years; five children, Alonzo Nalls (Beth), Jeremy Shaw (Nechelle Turner-Shaw), Tara Jordan, Tevin Jordan, and Penny Freeman; grandchildren, ShaNiya, Aquanzo, Mason, Kaleigh, Javon, Michael, Sarai, and Harden; great-grandchildren, Iviona, Tyrese, and LoAmie; four brothers, Mike Shaw, William Barnett, Israel Barnett, and Eric (Cindy) Jones; two sisters, Regina Barnett and Betty Lynn Rhodes; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lewis; two brothers-in-law, James Bailey and Hanson Peete; one uncle and aunt, Reverend Edgar and Alvie Shaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
