Jimmy Lewis Barnett "Slim Jim', "Skinner", "Windy", and "Bimmy" was born twin with Bobby Lewis Barnett on August 30, 1950 to late Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Olivia C. Duncan Barnett of Florence, Alabama. Jimmy confessed hope in Christ around 1962 and joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. He attended church for several years. He attended elementary school at Mt. Zion, West End and Central Junior High. Jimmy worked at Florence State University(UNA) as a janitor and retired because of disability. He later worked at Hampton Inn as a janitor and handyman. Jimmy departed this life early Saturday morning October 17, 2015 after entering Shoals Hospital and Rehab on August 31, 2015. He was later admitted to Helen Keller Hospital on October 6, 2015 and later to Genesis Keller Landing Health Care Facility. Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, Beverly Carroll, three brothers; Thomas Barnett Jr., Larry W. Barnett and David L. Barnett, four sisters; Annie O. Barnett, Fannie L. Hereford, Etta M. Ingram and Martha V. Vaughn, two sisters-in-laws; Edith A. Barnett and Melinda A. Barnett. One uncle; Charlie James Barnett, one aunt; Willie Mae Barnett, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends. Special friends; Frederick and Jacqueline Barnett, health care workers and Joe Kelly and Deborah, FeFe(Sophia) Thompson and Denise, Shoals Hospital, Helen Keller Hospital&Rehab. and Keller Landing Facility, Hospice Health Care Group.
