Joe Thomas Davis "Monkey" went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2018.  He was born on June 29, 1955 in Florence, Alabama to Juanita Davis Butler and Joe Louis Butler.  Both preceded him in death, along with his sister, Nola "Poochie" Esters, maternal grandmother Marie Rhodes, paternal grandparents, Jack and Vera Napier.  He accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Coffee High School in 1973.  He was an avid tennis player.  He was a master at cooking .  Everybody loved his food.  He was currently employed at the Waffle House.  He was a huge fan of Alabama football, Tennessee Titans ,and  Los Angeles Lakers.  He loved his family tremendously.

He leaves to cherish seven sons: Reggie King (Elaine), Darius Davis, (Ashely), Jarius Davis, Rolandus Davis, Shawn Russell, Lamont  Perkins, and Rdellius Davis, two daughters:  Christina Asher and Sarnae Davis, one step son:  Robert Pride, four brothers:  Karl Butler, Spence Butler, Robert Butler (Benita), and Connie Simpson, four sisters:  Evelyn Lewis (Harold), Teresa Garner, Miranda Anderson (Johnny), and Jovon Napier Coley, one uncle:  Cleveland Fortenberry, eleven grandchildren:  LaDarius, LaDeyzhia, Aniyah, Amiri, Carter, Kennedy, Makaila, Ryelan, Teonna, Gionna, and Ahnya, host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friends:  Wanda Asher, Cynthia Summerhill, Harry Minor.
