John Edward "Bro" Perkins was born June 13, 1954 to the late Mr. John Edward Perkins, Sr., and Mrs. Angeline Jones Perkins. He departed this life on June 27, 2018. John was a graduate of Bradshaw High School. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of Bethel Lauderdale. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ms Johnie Ruthe Jones.

Bro was one of the coolest men on Earth. His passion was celebrating life with his family and friends with keeping everyone entertained by his grilling. Bro especially enjoyed visiting with his granddaughter, McKenzie. He was well known throughout the community as a lively and fun individual.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted son, Jermaine (Andrea) Perkins of Birmingham, Alabama; a granddaughter, Little Miss McKenzie Perkins of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers, Leonard Perkins of Florence, Alabama and Stanley Perkins of Memphis, Tennessee; five sisters, Lula Oates, Edna Perkins, Linda (David) Harden, Carolyn (Lloyd) Mixon, all of Florence, Alabama and Sarah (Alvin) Fouse of Racine, Wisconsin; two aunts, Waymon Bodie of Limo, Ohio and Annie Louise Thompson of Florence, Alabama; foster aunt, Lillian Thompson of Florence, Alabama; two foster brothers, Johnny (Rhonda) Tucker of Memphis, Tennessee and Dale (Wendy) Siemientkowski of Florence, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends including special friend, Debra Rucker of Madison, Alabama.
