Mr. Reeder passed away on: Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Glenwood Rehabilitation Center, Florence, Alabama
Mr. John D. Reeder was born June 14, 1941, in Florence, Alabama,
to the late Ruby Wilson-Hodges and Jones Bush Winborn. He
transitioned his life on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Glenwood
Rehabilitation Nursing Home.
Mr. John D. Reeder was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Wilson Hodges; his father, Jones Winborn; stepmother, Olmay Winborn;
three brothers, Thomas James (Red) Wilson, Henry (Bookie) Wilson,
and William Louis Wilson; and two sisters, Barbara Ford and Minnie
Thompson.
Mr. John D. Reeder accepted Christ at an early age and later became
a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted
husband, father, and grandfather. He drove trucks for over forty
years. He also was the owner of West Irving Market for twelve years
and part time worker of the Sunday Morning Radio Show. He was
also a member of the Johnson Singers, which later became St. James
Special Chorus.
Mr. John D. Reeder is survived by: his devoted wife, Ada Reeder;
five children, Tommie Andrews (Linda), Evelyn Hamilton-Reynolds
(George), Dexter Reeder, March Reeder, and Frances Reeder; one
brother, Charles Scott; one aunt, Mrs. Estella Thompson of Cleveland,
Ohio; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Andrew (Luddy), Henderson
Andrews, and Elmer Andrews; two sisters-in-law, LuVenia Ingram
and Dr. Laura Thompson (Dale); and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews,
and other relatives.
