Kenneth Norman McKelvey was born January 12,
1948, in Florence, Alabama, to Maceo Alfonza McKelvy
and Mae E. McKelvy who, along with his siblings
Benjamin Gibson and Delois Clayborne, preceded him
in death.

Kenneth, better known as "Ken," was a master of many
jobs; he was a well-known hairstylist, a TVA accountant,
and a proud truck driver.

Even though he was raised in Moulton, Alabama, by
his uncle and aunt, Winston and Euniceteen Webb, he
remained an active member of his family on a weekly
basis. For his 9th grade school year, he returned to
Florence, Alabama, to live with his mom and siblings.
There, he graduated from Burrell Slater High School,
where he played the drums under Mr. Moore. He quickly
decided that playing football was the way he wanted to
go and ultimately donated his drums to the school.
Ken attended Church of Christ and later Good Hope
Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday
School and drove the church bus.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Kenneth
(Angelia) McKelvey, Kenneth (Christal) McKelvey Jr.,
Dedric McKelvey, and one daughter, Quincy (Eric)
Batchelor. He will forever remain in loving memory by:
his sisters, Bettie Minor, Janice (Jimmie) Hollingsworth,
and Eunice Abron; grandchildren, Avery Garner,
Maikallah, Alyssa, MacKenzie, Jamar, Vertee, Deqaun,
Cynthia, Rakes; special friend, Elaine Mokwunye; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
