Kenneth Duane Perkins was born on June 3, 1958 to the late James Charles and Claudette Louise Roundtree in Detroit, Michigan. Shortly after Kenny was adopted and raised by his devoted parents Mr. Lucious "Pinhead" and Emma Luster Perkins. He accepted Christ at an early age. On September 30, 2020, Kenny was called home to be with his lord and Savior.

Affectionately called "Ice Cold" by his friends, Kenny attended Coffee High School where he graduated in 1976. He then attended Alabama A&M University where he studied Business Management.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Lucious and Emma L. Perkins, biological parents James Charles and Claudette Louise Roundtree, and sister Dorothy Perkins.

Kenny "Ice Cold" Perkins leaves behind his devoted and loving children: Tamara "Tam" Anderson, Charlotte, NC, Kyle Roy Muscle Shoals, AL, Kerri "Kiki" Roy Muscle Shoals, AL, three grandchildren: Rhiann Belue, Florence, AL, Jaxon "Action Jaxon" Kage Roy, Muscle Shoals, AL, and Kendyl "Lil Mama" Roy, Florence, AL. Seven siblings all of Detroit, Michigan; Gregory Roundtree, Ricky (Teri) Roundtree, Tamara Roundtree, Nina Bullock, Leo Roundtree, Doshia Barton, and Roshia Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
