Larry O'Neal Anderson passed away quietly on May 23, 2025. He was born in Florence, Alabama, on May 8,1947, to Allene Woods Anderson and Richard Edward Anderson.
Larry graduated from Burrell Slater High School in Florence, Alabama, in 1966. After graduation, he studied soil conservation for one year and then went to work at Reynolds Metals and Wise Alloys Metal where he worked for 36 years before retiring in 2006.
Larry gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a devoted member of Tennessee Valley Community Church and Center. Before his illness, he served as a part of the usher board and steward board chairman. He loved singing in the male choir. His greatest joy came from his comradeship with the Samaritans. His last words were "tell all my buddies, I love them".
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Edward Anderson; mother, Allene Woods Anderson; and brothers, William (Billy) Anderson and Clifford (Dude) Anderson.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Kathie) Anderson; son, Chad Anderson; daughter, Marisa Anderson; granddaughter, Lilly Goodwin; sister, Cynthia Diane Anderson; and brothers, Richard (Button) Anderson, and Reginald (Gene) Anderson; four aunts, Betty Smith, Florence, AL, Barbara Jones, Flint Michigan, Betty Pierce and Ruth Pierce, Chicago, Illinois; Sisters in Law: Barbara Bonds, Houston Texas, Linda (Jappy) King, Gurnee, IL, Deirdre Pierce, Zion, IL, Brothers in Law: Robert (Dorice) Pierce, Kenosha, WI, Gregory (Allyson) Pierce, Beach Park, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
