Obituary

Latasha Monette Belue Thompson was born on July 27, 1970, in Sheffield, Alabama, to Minister Barbara Belue and the late Tom Belue, Jr. She peacefully slipped away on Sunday morning, December 15, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence.

Latasha, or "Tasha" as everyone called her, was joined in holy matrimony to Richard Tyrone Thompson on February 12, 1994. This devoted union continued for 35 years.

She attended and graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1988. Latasha accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, until she later moved her membership to St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. There, she served on the usher ministry until her health started to give her problems. She was a very quiet person who deeply loved her family and very close friends. She had a kindred and loving spirit with a welcoming heart to all who knew her. She retired from First Baptist Church in Florence as a janitorial custodian of 15 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Richard Tyrone Thompson; children, Staysha Poole,
Sacasla Thompson (Dalvin), and Jeremy Thompson, all of Florence, Alabama; two grandchildren, grandson, Micah Thompson and granddaughter, K'ari Porter, both of Florence, Alabama; loving mother, Minister Barbara Belue of Florence, Alabama; two sisters, Carla King (Bryan) of Florence, Alabama, and Nikki Belue of Killen, Alabama; one brother, Dexter Winburn of Florence, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Sandra (Sonny) Ragland and Cynthia (Larry) Bonds of Cherokee, Alabama; four brothers-in-law, Willie Thompson of Muscle Shoals, Dexter (Davala) of Florence of Alabama, Johnnie (Sonja) Thompson of Cherokee, Alabama, and Derrick (Sabrina) Simpson of Florence, Alabama; aunts, Deloris (James) Johnson of Sheffield, Alabama, and Dorothy Mayes of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; uncles, Charles (Vida) Belue of Florence, Alabama; and a very special friend, Michelle Reeder of Madison, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Belue, Jr., and one sister, Donna F. Belue.
