LaToya Grace Turner Harrell, our graceful soul, began her life journey January 8, 1980, in Florence AL to the parents of Mr. Ludie Turner and Mrs. Millie Turner. She departed this life on Monday, December 26th, 2022 in Florence, Alabama.
LaToya accepted Christ at an early age at her childhood church home of First Missionary Baptist Church. No matter where her life journey took her, she maintained strong faith. LaToya graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1998 and went on to attend the University of North Alabama where she received her Bachelor of Social Work Degree. She then moved to Montgomery, Alabama after accepting a position as a foster care worker at the Montgomery Department of Human Resources. It was here that LaToya learned how great of an impact she could have on families and associates. As a result, she
continued her education at the University of Alabama where she received her Master of Social Work Degree in 2011.
While in Montgomery, Alabama, Latoya met the love of her life, Daryl Harrell. They connected over long talks about life, love, and the future. They married on May 29, 2010 surrounded by the love of their family and friends. With this union, came two beautiful children, Imani and Chance Harrell.
LaToya and Daryl moved back to Florence and LaToya accepted a position at Colbert County Department of Human Resources. She served as a Senior Social Worker II responsible for licensing foster care homes and families.
LaToya was a very loving person who had a love for children young and old. She dedicated several years volunteering her time as team mom for various TVBA, AAU, and Florence Baby Falcon Teams. She had such a strong compassion for children and they loved her as much as she loved them.
