May 1, 1957 — Sep 17, 2020
Tuscumbia
Lawrence Anthony Phillips was born on May 1, 1957, to
Richard Meredith and Jeraldine Newsome. He was later adopted by John
D. Phillips. He departed his earthly journey on September 17, 2020, at his
home in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
Lawrence confessed his faith in Christ and joined the Bethel Colbert
Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was an active member in
the Men's Choir and the Men of Bethel (MOB) ministries until his death.
Lawrence graduated from Colbert County High School, class of 1975, and
Muscle Shoals Technical School. He spent his adult life as an Electronics
Technician, employed by Sears and Hunt's TV & Appliances. After
retiring, he was called upon by many to "Fix It," whether it was a washer,
dryer, stove, hot water heater, or air conditioner. His footsteps have graced
many homes in the community.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Meredith, and adoptive
father, John D. Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Jeraldine Phillips; three
