Mrs. Martha Ann Butler was born June 28, 1942 to the late Rister Dee and Annie Mae Watkins. Mother Butler's spiritual soul took flight to her heavenly Father, Sunday May 15, 2016. Preceding her in homegoing was her sister, Elva Doris Cole, her brother, Minister Adlai Stevenson Coffee, and her aunt, Caroline Smith.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a very early age and became a member of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Mothers' Board and Nursing Guild.
She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her beauty was expressed in her smile, loving, caring, and in her sharing.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Roosevelt Butler; her two loving and devoted children, Bernard Butler and Meshele Butler, all of Rogersville, Alabama; one loving and devoted family friend, Don Nance, Sr. of Rogersville, Alabama; one brother, Donald Coffee of Florence, Alabama; three sisters, Louise Roberson of Glendale Arizona, Judy Williams of Florence, Alabama and Teresa Smith of Rogersville, Alabama; one loving aunt, Irma (Coley) Patrick of Athens, Alabama; two loving and caring nephews, Victor (Annetta) Cole and Anthony (Avis) Cole , both of Florence, Alabama; two loving and caring great nieces, LaToya Cole and Shynee Cole both of Florence, Alabama; brothers-in-law, Lionel (Sarah) Butler of Rogersville, Alabama, McArthur Butler of Florence, Alabama, and Booker T. Butler of Rogersville, Alabama. She also leaves to cherish other relatives and friends.
