Martha Edwards Nelson's Obituary
Mr. Martha Nelson also known as "Baby Sister", was born March 8,1940, in Florence, Alabama to the late Mr. Fred Edwards, Sr. and Mrs. Frankie Edwards. Martha departed this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member until her death.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Frankie and Fred Edwards, Sr.; brother, Fred Edwards, Jr.; sisters, Leisha Faye Fuqua, Debra Jean Edwards, and Rebecca "Popeye" Edwards; and great-grandson, Andra' Labrett Carter; and a loving companion, George (Duck) Turner, Jr.
Martha leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Donnie (Vangie) of Florence, Alabama, Teresa Nelson of Florence, Alabama, Jeffery (Carolyn) Nelson of Iowa City, Iowa, and Melissa Nelson of Florence, Alabama; one brother, Ronie (Constance) Cole, Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters, Rosie (Rev. Arthur) Turner and Vivian (Dexter) Pearson, all of Florence, Alabama; fourteen grandkids; twelve great-grandkids; one aunt, Lillie Mae Burtwell of Florence, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Nazery Turner and Annie Pearl Mullins; two God-sons, Larry (Janelle) Pender and Shay Barnett, all of Florence, Alabama; two special friends, Janice Bankhead and Lawanda (Hilton) Simpson, all of Florence, Alabama; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
