Michael Leon
Howard
Oct 23, 1959 — Apr 12, 2021
Florence
Michael Leon Howard Stewart was born to the late Eriah and Carrie Stewart. He was born in
Florence, Alabama.
Michael confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. He attended W.C. Handy School, and
Applebee and Coffee High School, where he participated in multiple sports. Michael also loved
spending time with family, cooking, and listening to music. He always lended a word of advice
to a weary heart when needed.
Michael retired from Sara Lee Corporation, after dedicating 10 years of faithful service.
He was an outstanding son, brother, dad, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and dependable friend.
Michael was a very outspoken, driven, and highly motivated working man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Eriah and Carrie B. Stewart; his beloved "Bae"
grandmother, Emma Barnett; his brothers, Chester Lee Stewart, Emmerson Stewart, and Billy
Ray ("Wank") Asher; his sisters, Detra Barnett and Lil Bitt; and a host of cousins, uncles, and
aunts.
Michael was a man of great wisdom and often quoted to family and friends, "If you do it the
same way, you will get the same results."
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Lashailia Smith of Muscle Shoals, Alabama,
Kimberly Smith of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; one son, Dayson Howard of Sheffield, Alabama;
brother, Eriah (Michelle) Stewart; sisters, Gwendolyn (Robert), Apostle C. Smith (James), Sheila
