Nellie M. Burtwell Summerhill was born September 13, 1933 to the late Floyd D. Burtwell and Bessie Thompson Burtwell. She was the second child born to this union. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Summerhill; son, Moses Summerhill. Nellie attended West End High School and later received her G.E.D. She was a member of the Senior Choir and Senior Usher Board until her health prevented her from continuing to serve. She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, William "Leonard" Summerhill, and Owen B. Summerhill; daughter, Rita D. Summerhill; sister, Mattie B. Lafety; brother, Eddie L.(Lillie M.) Burtwell; brothers-in-law Felix Summerhill, Tom(Shula) Summerhill, Harvey Summerhill; nieces, Bessie M. Turner, Joyce L. Ragland, Patricia A. Mack; nephew, Robert Burtwell; great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
