Obituary

Time has come again when another one of our loved ones has found their way home.
As the days go by, she's still on our hearts. For we know there comes a day when we will have to depart.
Sister Patsy Bell Boddie, she was born on January 12, 1936, to the late William Mattew (Pack) Clay and Desree
(Sales) Clay of Leighton, Alabama.
On April 6, 2026, at her home our Heavenly Father came beside her and whispered, "Come with me, my child, and take
your rest."
She was preceded in death by her two loving sisters, Viola Qualls and Isbelle Tyler; three brothers, Frank, Harold, and
Curtis Clay; two daughters, Carolyn Barnett and Valeria Smith; three sons, Anthony, Bobby, and William; and two
grandkids, Niquita Smith and Robert Gardener.
At an early age, she confessed hope in Christ and joined Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church where she was a
faithful member. She served on the usher board, YWA (Young Women Auxiliary), and was the church custodian. She
later united with the St. James MBC under the leadership of Reverend Green Davidson III.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her very devoted sister, Chaney Powell of Tuscumbia, AL; four daughters, Wanda
Gardner of Florence, Viola Smith of Sheffield, Beverly Ingram of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Jaqueline (Mohamed Camara)
Huyghue of Florence; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great
grandchildren; two special cousins, May Helen Little and Susie Allen; and the sunshine of her life, Ky'Loni Brook
McCoy, AKA "Pat, Pat."
