Mr. Percy "Sonny" Duke Hardnett, son of the late Pertie and Louanna Hardnett. He was born June 8, 1957, in Sheffield Alabama. He departed this life December 1, 2024, in Florence, AL.

Percy found Christ at an early age and was baptized. He graduated from Sheffield High School in 1975. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home he worked for TVA and later retired. He then moved to Murfreesboro, TN and was employed by Greenhouse Ministries.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearlene Powell of Leighton, AL, Peggy Amos of Hermitage, TN., niece, Angela Bennett of Sheffield, AL., and one brother, Charles Lowe of Sheffield, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Tiffany Deanna Shelby, Florence, AL; three stepchildren, Sheree (Ryan) Anderson, Rochelle Shelby, Willie Shelby all of Florence, AL; three brothers, Thomas Hardnett of Gulf Port, MS., Michael Hardnett and Donald Harnett of Florence, AL, three sisters, Mary Dean Hughes of Sheffield, AL, June Bennett and Norma Bean of Florence, AL, four grandchildren, Tylik McCroskey, Tyree McCroskey, Persiyah McCroskey, and Saniyah Morris all of Florence, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one brother-in-law, Ben Amos. A devoted lifelong friend, Wynella Shelby.
