BROTHER RICKEY DARNELL BOWENS
was born on April 5, 1965, in Florence, Alabama.
Rickey accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age
under the leadership of Reverend James Barnett
Hopewell AME Church.
Rickey was a graduate of Brooks High School. He
was a friend to everyone who knew him. Rickey had
a heart of love that showed every day to his wife, son,
daughter, sisters, brothers, and godson Brian Lewlyn.
Rickey was preceded in death by his mother, Louise
Hobbs Bowens, and his father, Lester Rose Bowens.
Rickey leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife,
Fay Bowens of Florence, Alabama; two children:
son, Trey Bowens of Florence, Alabama; daughter,
Shanna Bowens of Florence, Alabama; two sisters,
Flora (Robert) Parker of Florence, Alabama, and Betty
(Melvin) Whitlock of Killen, Alabama; three brothers,
James Bowens of Florence, Alabama, William Bowens
of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and John (Virginia) Bowens
of Rogersville, Alabama; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
