Rosie Shelton Lewis, 84, of Sheffield, Alabama, made her heavenly
transition on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Helen Keller Hospital.
She was a graduate of Sterling High School and a member of Order of the
Eastern Star.

Ms. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Shelton and Mattie
Pride Shelton, and her husband of 34 years, Meather Lewis, Jr. Also
preceding her in death are three sisters, Mary Hill, Bessie Grant, and Lillie
Crawley, and two brothers, George Shelton and Thomas Shelton.

Ms. Lewis was retired from the Sheffield City School System as a Nutritional
Provider. She was a faithful member of New Bethel AME Church, where
she served as a trustee, stewardess, and choir member. She enjoyed attending
the Sheffield Senior Center and was an avid shopper.

She leaves to carry on her legacy: her son, Carl O. Lewis (Jackie) of
Carrollton, Georgia; daughter, Linda Lewis-Reece (Deb) of Tuscumbia,
Alabama; one sister, Betty Freeman of Sheffield, Alabama; four sisters-in-law, Rosa Lewis and Haley Vaughn, both of Sheffield, Alabama, Brenda
Kellam, and Mildred Green (Rickey) of Tuscumbia, Alabama; one brother in-law, William Ray Lewis of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; six grandchildren,
Jamira Edwards (Ralph) of Mobile, Alabama, Jamaal Tarver, Jacquis Lewis,
Branden Lewis and Justin Tarver, all of Carrollton, Georgia, and Ryan
Lewis (Amber) of Dothan, Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Jett Lewis
of Dothan, Alabama, and Rilyn Edwards of Mobile, Alabama; and a host
of nieces, nephews, and friends.
