Roy Chester Vinson was born on November 29, 1952. He departed this life on October 13, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Vinson received Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Johnnie Mae Vinson and his baby brother, Dexter Vinson.
Roy was affectionately known by many as "Brown" and "Uncle Natch". He was a former worker for the city of Sheffield and Wayne's Farm. His favorite past time was spending time with his family and friends.
Roy is survived by his wife, Diane Vinson, Hillsboro, AL; his children, Shamara Horison, Sheffield, AL, Cornelius Vinson (Cortney), Madison, AL, Roy Garner, Atlanta, GA, and Sharocka Ray (Chris), Town Creek, AL; his grandchildren: Lavontia Jackson, Quindria Vinson, Randy Horison, Tyreisha Horison, and Jirch Ray; his great grandchildren: Lavarious Jackson, Amari Vinson and Caiden Vinson; his siblings, Emma Joyce Washington, Thomas Vinson, Jr. (Alma), and Willa Vinson-Gunn (Larry), and Dale Vinson (Sarah) all of Sheffield, AL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Caroline Taylor (Paul), Courtland, AL, Christion McLemore (Marty), Philadelphia, MS, Mary Ervies, Phoenix, AZ, Dave Willingham, IV (Norma), Hillsboro, AL, Jacqueline Byrd (Kennedy), Courtland, AL, Yolanda Goodloe, Hillsboro, and Reco Willingham, Mississippi; many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
