Obituary

Mrs. Sazzie Mae Armstead Thompson was
born on December 31, 1947, in Lauderdale County, Alabama, to the
late Alex Armstead and late Nellie Johnson Armstead. She joined
Rock PB Church at an early age where she remained a faithful
member. Sazzie had several friends and family members who made
contact with her on a daily and weekly bias. Loved ones are often
reminiscing and laughing about something Sazzie had said. She
never missed an opportunity to make us laugh and feel good about
ourselves.
She was a devoted and loving house wife, mother, and grandmother
and to all that knew her. She enjoyed shopping, going to church,
spending time with her grandchildren, being pampered, and
talking on the phone, LOL!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Early James
Thompson; one son, Elvis Thompson; one brother, James Gibson,
Sr.; and three sisters, Mattie Mae Guins, Harriet Sanders, and
Cheryl Haney.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her four children, Aretha
(Ron) Qualls of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Greta Bridges of Florence,
Alabama, Ronita Thompson of Florence, Alabama, and Bradley
Thompson of Luka, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Elvis (Sartini)
Thompson II, Raphael Vaughn, Ellis Thompson, Krista (Robin)
Sohn, Aleeha Bridges, Jerricka Thompson, Aurelia Bridges, and
Braden Thompson; eight great-grandchildren; two aunts, Jennie V.
