Tarra Lamont Ross was born on October 23, 1970, in Florence to Joan Paulette Ross-Moore and McKinley Carroll.  He departed this life on May 2, 2026 at North Alabama Medical Center surrounded by the love of family.

He was a proud graduate of Coffee High School, class of 1990, known for his warm spirit and outgoing personality, he never met a stranger and truly enjoyed talking and connecting with people.  His love for family was evident in everything he did, and he will be deeply missed by his mother and all who loved him.

He had a passion for cooking, especially during the holidays, and proudly called himself a chef.  Family gathering were made special by the meals he prepared with love and joy.  He also dedicated much of his time to coaching softball, football, and basketball, sharing his knowledge , encouragement, and heart with countless young people through sports.

He especially cherished his niece, Lauren, who held a very special place in his heart.  The bond they shared brought him great happiness.

He enjoyed his time working at Soul Wingery and Records with his nephew Thad,, where he built friendships and lasting memories.

Though he is no longer with us physically, his laughter, kindness, love for family and generous spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

His memory will live on always.

Proceeded in death by his grandparents: Minnie and Lester Ross: father; McKinley Carroll; uncles: Darryl Ross, Lester Ross Jr., Albert Carroll Jr., and Robert Carroll.
