Obituary

Elder Titus Cage, Sr., age 70, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at approximately
12:29 PM surrounded by his devoted loving family.

Elder Cage was born on June 8, 1951, in Florence,
Alabama to the late David Cage, Sr., and Lila Mae
(Johnson) Cage. Both parents preceded him in death.
On February 15, 1975, he was united in holy
matrimony to the love of his life, Janice Sue Laws, who
survives in Florence, Alabama.


Elder Cage confessed Christ and was baptized in
1974 at Prayer Garden C.O.G.I.C. in Lima, Ohio under
the leadership of Pastor Stanley Jordan. Elder Cage
was a faithful and dedicated man of God who served as
deacon. Elder Cage was ordained as a minister at St. Luke
C.O.G.I.C. in Lima, Ohio under the leadership of Pastor
James Shelby. In 1995 Elder Cage relocated to Florence,
Alabama and became an active member of Mt. Pleasant
Church in Leighton, Alabama under the leadership of
Pastors Charles & DeTamera Orr. Elder Cage was the
Director of The Men's Restoration Home, where many
lives of men and women were changed from alcohol and
drug addictions.


Elder Cage was previously employed with Lima
Community Action Center, The Allen County Juvenile
Detention Center, The City of Lima Street Dept., and West
Ohio Gas Co. in Lima, Ohio where he retired.
Elder Cage enjoyed going to Bunyan's Bar-B-Que for his small BBQ pork sandwich and peach drink;
and he enjoyed taking a ride down to McFarland Park
campground to overlook the Tennessee River while eating
his lunch.


He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of
46 years, Sue; a loving father to his son, Titus Cage, Jr.; a
loving grandfather to his grandsons, De'Shawn and Quay
Shawn (Ashley) Lewis; and a loving great-grandfather to
his great-grandson, Grey Miro, son of Kelsey Condrey.
Elder Cage is survived by: one brother, Frank
Cage, Sr. (Denise), of Lima, Ohio; five sisters, Annie
Hughes of Lima, Ohio, Mary Ann Jones (Jimmy) of
Columbus, Ohio, Madge Cage of Lansing, Michigan,
Regina Dansby (Kevin) of Columbus, Ohio, and Belinda
Cage of Lansing, Michigan; four brothers-in-law, Fred
Hall of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Willie Laws (Fran)
of Chicago, Illinois, Benjamin Laws, Jr. (Chandra), Jerry
Laws (Della), and Minister Julius Laws of Lima, Ohio;
six sisters-in-law, Faye Thompson, Joyce Laws, Mildred
Wall (James), and Kimberly Laws of Lima, Ohio, LaKesha
Laws, and LaTrisha Alexander (Erick); two aunts, Jennie
Cole (Funrow) and Betty Johnson of Bellwood, Illinois;
best friends, Robert Downton and Barber Maine Key;
special cousins, Martha Faye Hubbard and Ce Ce Eddy;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and
many acquaintances.


Elder Cage was preceded in death by his mother
and father-in-law, Margaret and Benjamin Laws, Sr.; two
brothers, David Cage, Jr., and Robert Cage; four brothers-in-law, Ben Thompson, Donald Hughes, Allen Laws, and
Anthony Laws; and four sisters-in-law, Jebroma Cage,
Bonnie Cage, Audrey Hall, and Wanda Laws.
