Vera Kate
Little
Jan 13, 1964 — Sep 11, 2024
Sheffield
Mrs. Vera Kate Sledge Little was born January 13, 1964, in Sheffield, Alabama, to the late Grenethal Abernathy Sledge Byrd and the late Tommy Byrd. Vera transitioned to her eternal heavenly home on September 11, 2024, at her residence in Sheffield, Alabama.
Vera accepted Christ at an early age and united with Lesley Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where she attended as a child. Vera joined Healing Fountain Apostolic Church as a young adult and later joined Cliff Haven Church in Sheffield, Alabama, where she attended until her health declined.
Vera attended Tuscumbia City schools as a child and graduated from Deshler High School in 1984.
Vera married the love of her life, Clarence Little, on July 1, 1988, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and they shared 36 wonderful years together. Vera loved GOD!!!! She sung her favorite song, "My Exodus," up until her transition. Vera loved serving in the church, singing and helping others. If you needed something from Vera, it was yours. Vera was a very loving, loyal, dependable, compassionate, and giving person. Vera loved working with children and the elderly. One thing about Vera was that she had a unique sense of humor, and she was gifted with her hands.
