Mr. William Henry Ford was born January 13, 1942, and departed this journey on August 23, 2018, at his residence quietly and peacefully with his devoted wife while reading the 23rd Psalm.
Mr. Ford was born to the late Rev. Dr. William M. and Lula Mae (Jarmon) Ford of Florence, Alabama. He was the second born of this union.
Mr. Ford was a graduate of Burrell Slater School of Florence, Alabama, where he was the class president in 1960. He there after attended and graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received his B.S. in Education.
Mr. Ford proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Army stationed in St. Louis, Missouri, after which he received his Master's in education from U.N.A. He worked and retired from Reynolds Metal Company in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Mr. Ford received Christ at an early age and untied with Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church in Leighton, Alabama under the late Rev. Frank Roach Sr.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaGrounda Renee Ford Lewis, sister, Elizabeth Ford Tiller; and brother, Jeremiah (Jerry) Ford. Mr. Ford leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife of 15 years, Mrs. Gloria Diane Ford; three sons, Byron Ford (Tyera) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, William Ford Jr., of Sheffield, Alabama and Micheal Ford of Decatur, Alabama; one daughter, Sheria Ford of Decatur, Alabama; four stepdaughters, Chiquita (Clarence) Littleton of Orlando, Florida, Michelle Jarmon of Florence, Alabama, Rene McCord of Navarre, Florida, and Leann (Toni) Parham
of Navarre, Florida; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; one aunt, Ms. Eva Jarmon of Sheffield, Alabama; four brothers-in-law, Bobby (Patricia) McCord, Jerry McCord both of Florence, Alabama, Wayne McCord of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Calvin Boyd of Sheffield, Alabama; nine sisters-in-law; Mattie Powers of Madison, Alabama, Velma Cole, Mary (James) Irons, Regina (Joseph) Shane, all of Florence, Alabama, Elizabeth (Liz) Hall of Nashville, Tennessee, Stella Clay, Glenda Boyd of Leighton, Alabama, Patricia Boyd of Sheffield, Alabama, and Pamela (Vincent) Williams of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two special cousins, Keith Thompson of Florence, Alabama and Ronald Jarmon of Sheffield, Alabama; and a host of other relatives and friends.
