William's journey began on July 1, 1959, in Waukegan, Illinois. He
was gifted to Allen (AJ) and Edna Shipley as the last child of seven.
William was called home on Friday, May 12, 2023, at North Alabama
Medical Center in Florence, Alabama, surrounded by his devoted
family.
William loved to play basketball when he was younger, and as he
got older, he loved to watch NFL and college football. He was a huge
Auburn fan and would not miss watching a game. His most favorite
college game was the Alabama-Auburn game, and he would stay on
the phone with you the entire game predicting what the next play
would be.
William was blessed and highly favored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen (AJ) and Edna Shipley;
grandparents, Frank and Frances Price and Edgar and Orlando
Shipley; two brothers, Allen (Butch) Shipley and Calvin Shipley; and
two sisters, Jeanette Shipley Rowell and Frances Cole Simpson.
William leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his son, Kodi
Goodloe; granddaughter, Aaliyah; two sisters, JoAnn (Golden)
Armstead and Gail (Robert) Gamble; one brother-in-law, Henry
Simpson; son of love, Demetrius Towns; and a host of loving nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
